Grand Canyon helicopter tours come in all shapes and sizes. The most basic is the air-only tour, which flies over key areas of the National Park. Then there are your landing tour packages, of which the most popular is the Grand Celebration Champagne picnic at the bottom next to the Colorado River. To help you cut through the clutter, I’ve put together this list of the best helicopter tours from Las Vegas and South Rim, AZ. My hope is that by comparing flights in this manner you’ll find the trip of your dreams.

RSVP
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Book your tour in advance. High season for helicopter trips is all-year, and they regularly sell out. I specifically tell friends and family to RSVP their rides no less than three days from date of desired departure. Only solo travelers have a shot at getting a same-day booking; groups of two or more don’t stand a chance. Sorry about being blunt but it’s just how it is.
Deals
The tour prices listed on this page are the best out there. If you find the same tour for less, please read the fine print on that competitive offer. To get my rates, you MUST purchase your excursion online. The reason? Because it costs tour operators less to process an Internet booking than a phone booking. Take advantage of this. If you need to make phone contact, do it AFTER you have your ORDER # as that locks in your tour price.
D-Day
Just like regular airlines, you’ve got to confirm your flight 24 hours in advance. This is also the phone call wherein you’ll lock down where you’ll be picked up at your hotel. Don’t assume anything. Make sure the pick up time and place is crystal clear. For good measure, run the pick up spot by the hotel concierge. Next, dress appropriately. Canyon weather is fickle. Things you’ll bring regardless if its winter or summer are:
- Hat
- Sunglasses
- ChapStick
- Running shoes
- Water
- Sun block
